1. Try it before you pay

Cadenza runs for fourteen days with every feature unlocked and asks for no payment details to do it. That is deliberate: MIDI is hardware, and hardware is where surprises live. Whether your keyboard talks to it, whether the latency suits your playing, whether OBS captures the windows the way your scene needs — none of that can be settled by a screenshot, and all of it can be settled in an evening.

Please use the trial. A refund that never had to happen is better for both of us than one handled well.

2. Fourteen days to change your mind

If you buy and it turns out not to be for you, you have fourteen days from the date of purchase to ask for a full refund. No reason is required. We do not ask what went wrong — though if you tell us, it tends to get fixed.

The refund is for the full amount you paid, including VAT, returned to the same card or account you paid with.

3. How to ask

1. Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, or quote your order number from the receipt.
2. We confirm and pass it to Lemon Squeezy, who took the payment.
3. The money leaves within a few working days. How long it then takes to appear is your bank's business, not ours — usually 3 to 10 days.

You may also write directly to Lemon Squeezy, since they are the seller of record. Either route works; ours is faster because there is no queue.

4. Your statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. For downloadable digital content there is a wrinkle worth stating plainly rather than hiding: that right normally ends once the download begins with your consent, and you are asked to acknowledge this at checkout. Nearly every software seller relies on that to refuse refunds.

5. What happens to your licence

When a refund is issued the licence key is deactivated, and Cadenza returns to what it is without one — it keeps opening, and keeps working as a chord and scale display. Your files stay yours: every take, export and setting on your disk remains exactly where it was. We do not reach into your computer, and a refund deletes nothing.

6. After the fourteen days

Cadenza is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription to cancel, nothing renews, and no card is charged again — so there is nothing to cancel after the fourteen days either.

If something is broken — not "not for me", but genuinely not working as described — the fourteen days do not apply. That is a defect, your statutory rights cover it for far longer, and we would rather fix it than argue about a date. Write to us.

7. Chargebacks

Please write to us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback costs a small company a fee on top of the refund and takes months, whereas an email takes a day and gets you the same money. If you have written and had no answer within three working days, do what you have to — but check that our reply has not landed in spam, because that is what has usually happened.

8. Who to contact

Payments and invoices are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Their refund handling is described in their refund policy; where it differs from this page, whichever is more favourable to you is the one that applies.
